资源说明：Perl scripts for creating email2fax gateway based on Asterisk
OVERVIEW
A simple email2fax gateway for asterisk.
email2fax sits between MTA and asterisk server, it takes an email msg with TIFF
attachment from MTA over standard input, extracts TIFF file and fax number and
creates so called call file. Asterisk then reads a call file and
places an outbound call fax call to transmit the TIFF.
The difference from other systems is that email2fax does not do any parsing and
processing of messages, instead it talks to a mailparse server over TCP,
which does all email parsing and processing.
I realized that I could not use existing solutions because all email parsing and
processing is done on the same machine where asterisk is installed,
and I have a old and overloaded asterisk server,
so I needed to “offload” any non-trivial tasks to another system.

MTA integration
The idea is create a configuration where all emails sent to specific domain are passed to a program. I'll use efax.fax domain in example below:
Sendmail
1. local mailer
add to /etc/mail/virtusertable
+# add email2fax virtual user, redirect all mail sent to efax.fax to that user

2. special mailer
In some cases, when sendmail has it's local delivery programm overwritten
(integration with cyrus imap server, etc) the above solution won't work.
The work around is to configure a special mailer to handle faxes using standard FAX mailer from Hylafax project that comes with sendmail.
Add to /etc/mail/sendmail.mc at the end of 'define' section
